Question Car seat for VW Beetle convertible?

Hello

I have a 2013 Beetle convertible that i am looking to drive this summer with my son. My son is 3.5 years old and approximately 48 lbs. We use the Graco 3 in 1 extend to Fit in our main car.

Does anyone have any experience with a carseat that works well in the backseat of a Beetle? He is forward facing now (we turned him at Christmas...)

I have some concern the back seat of a Beetle will never be safe with forward facing seat because it is too small...is that true?

The size shouldn’t be an issue as long as you can get a good install and there are top tether anchors. The lack of structure and openness would be the bigger worry for me, but that is a parental choice and doesn’t have to keep you from using the car.
