This is not our primary car. However my husband now has to pick up our daughter from school in our 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse. It’s the 2 door hatch back. This car has no anchor points they were an optional extra. The only way we can get a car seat in safely that we can figure out is in the from seat forward facing with the seat all the way back. No matter how we put the car seat in the rear it was very wobbly and incredibly unsafe. We got her a convertible seat casco scenera. First of all is it even possible?! I’d prefer her be in the back but it seems unsafe. This is for a one way journey each day less than 3 miles. A lot can happen in 3 miles. I just want my child as safe as can be.

Hi there.

I'd rear face her. At her age, it's safer, and especially without top tethers, it'd be the ideal. The Scenera Next you have can sit fairly upright, so it should fit front to back pretty well. The line on the side doesn't need to be parallel. I'd put it on the passenger side, for obvious reasons. :)

If you pull the seatbelt all the way out slowly and gently, does it click as it goes back in?

Everything Wendy said and one more tip:
Once you know how your belts lock, I found the key with the Scenera Next was to get behind the seat and push it back into the vehicle seat with my hips. I found it was really difficult to get it snug enough to hold the recline where you want it without that technique. Also, peel back the cover so you can tighten the belt from inside the belt path.
