Anti-Rebound Bar Infant Car seat Question

Do you think having the anti-rebound bar on an infant seat is necessary? I was thinking of getting a Chicco Keyfit travel system but then I started reading about the anti-rebound car seats. The only one I can really afford would be the Evenflo Safemax infant seat. Please let me know what you think. It's really confusing and I just want to get the best car seat I can afford to buy. Thank you!

A seat with an anti-rebound bar is absolutely not necessary. The KeyFit has a great record of safety and ease of use, so I wouldn't hesitate to go with that if it works for your vehicle and budget. I had one and loved it!

I personally prefer some kind of rebound management feature, but that doesn't have to an anti-rebound bar. The Keyfit has some rebound-management features in the base and also allows the handle in the carry position in the car, which is another method of rebound management.
