Is is safe for me to drive both my kids in my 2017 F-150 Regular Cab?

My wife just accepted a new job and will be starting the first week in February. I will need to take over driving our 15 year old daughter and 12 year old son to school every morning when she starts the job. I currently drive my work truck which is a 2017 Ford F-150 home each night, but my wife is concerned it may not be safe to drive them in since it is a regular cab and they will both have to ride up front. She is thinking I should keep the truck at work and drive them to school in my Tahoe.

I was hoping to see if it will be safe for me to drive them in my work F-150. The truck has shoulder belts and headrests at all 3 positions and the airbag can be cut off, so I don't think it is unsafe. I would prefer to use the truck since it is more cost and time effective for me.

Also.. assuming that it is safe to drive them in the truck, is there a safest seating arrangement for my kids. If not, I will most likely seat our 12 year old on the outside since I will be dropping him off first and my 15 year old in the center. That way he can just hop out when we get to his school and my 15 year old can move over to the window seat for the rest of the drive to her school.

Just wanting to make sure it is safe to drive them in my 2017 F-150 regular cab and if there is a safest seating arrangement when driving them.

My apologies that this in not directly related to a car seat, but hoping to get advice since it is a vehicle safety question.

Assuming both pass the five step test (I'm guessing the 15 year old does, and the 12 year old likely does), and both have support to the top of their ears from the headrests, I'd leave the airbags on for them. I'd have zero qualms for the 15 year old, and only slight about the 12 year old. Just check for support to the tops of their ears (whiplash protection).

Thanks for confirming it will be safe for me to drive my son and daughter to school in my work truck.

Both meet the requirements you mentioned, so I will plan on keeping the airbags on.

I assume it will be safe to seat them in either seat. If so, I will probably put my 12 year old by the window since I will be dropping him off first and my 15 year old in the center since she will be dropped off last. Assuming that is safe it seems to work best so they can each just get out when I get to their school.
