Question Seat for 5 year old

Is it ridiculous to buy a convertible seat to keep my small 5 year old rear facing longer? We bought one about a year ago when hers expired with the intention of handing it down to the baby, who is now ready to move out of the bucket, and get her a combo seat to forward face her. Seeing the new recommendations for rear facing as long as possible and knowing she still more than fits has me questioning it! She doesn't complain about rearfacing and is very emotionally and behaviorally immature for her age and was held back from kindergarten this year. She is about 40" and 33 lbs. Thinking she could just use it to forward face next year when she goes to kindergarten and would likely be able to use it until safe boostering age or am I just being crazy and it would be better to buy a combo seat?? Would combo be more comfortable forward facing than convertible for older child?

Other seats we are currently using:
Pinnacle as booster for 8.5 yr old
Advocate rf 3.5 yr old
Advocate being passed down to 1 yr old
?Seat recommendations for 5 yr old?

You've done a fantastic job rear facing. When they say rear face as long as possible, they don't really mean keep the 10% kiddos rear facing forever too. They have the same skeletons as their peers (barring medical issues, anyway). But if you can convince a parent to keep their 90% child rear facing to three, that's the net that catches the little 10% kiddos as well. A five year old is perfectly safe forward facing, and it sounds like for your five year old, a forward facing harness is perfect.

Your only concern is if you seat your five year old where there's a top tether anchor. If you can't, you could rear face longer, or move kids around. If you can, I'd probably go with a combination seat.

Thank you for that insight! We have tethers available in all positions so that won't be a problem. Now my question is, what combination seat would be best?
We got the pinnacle because our oldest is tall for his age and we had wanted to harness him until recently, but our 5 year old isn't in any danger of outgrowing seats😁 I prefer Britax (have had good luck with Peg Perego as well) for ease of use and installation but I'm not set on it if there's other good options with these factors in mind! Price is not a factor.
