Getting maximum harness height from Britax ClickTight?

I see 20.5 inches listed everywhere for my Pinnacle Clicktights and Frontier ClickTights. My oldest is almost 8 and at the highest harness setting but his shoulders are now above the slot. This was confusing since heís 51 inches tall (55 lbs).
So I get out my tape measure and the harness slot appears to only be about 18.5 inches. I tried his brotherís seat raising it and got the same thing.
This is frustrating because I thought this would last another year or so harnessed. It certainly doesnít match what is advertised.

Has anyone else encountered this? Or am I doing something wrong?

Did you remove it from the car, loosen the harness, and then raise the headrest?

Your child is also likely booster ready, whenever you'd like to switch, unless there's a medical need preventing it.

So I discovered that getting it up that extra notch was the issue for whatever reason. Since itís so tall the angle was hard with the van roof. This put it closer to 20 inches.

And a half inch is normal variation depending on how hard you were pushing on the padding, the slope of your backseat, etc.

    Glad you got it working.
