Question FF Radian leaning to the side

I am trying to install a Diono Radian RXT forward facing with the seatbelt in a 2001 VW golf, but it keeps leaning to the side. I'm wondering if I am I over-tightening or if there's some trick that I should know about? I've installed this seat rear-facing about a hundred times in several different cars, but I'm new to forward-facing.

It may be that the vehicle cushion is uneven. You can try pushing down more on the "up" part of the seat when tightening.

It could also be a very strong retractor, or the way you're tightening the belt. Make sure you are pulling from the front of the seat through the holes in the cover, not by the side. Pull next to the buckle rather than on the far side. And don't switch the retractor to locked by pulling the belt all the way out until the seat is already tight (and when you do, do so gently.)

If you've done all that and it's still a little crooked, as long as the install is otherwise correct and it's not worsening with time, it shouldn't be a safety issue.

The vehicle cushion is not uneven where it touches the CR, so that doesn't seem to be the issue. I tried all of your other suggestions, and I think it worked, so thank you!

However, I now have another question. After I got what I'm pretty sure is a good install, I noticed that the vehicle belt is pinched where it goes into and out of the belt path. Initially it was kind of twisted, but I made it as smooth as I could. Is this a problem?

That happens. It isn't a worry. :)

The other thing to watch out with with this seat is that it doesn't slide forward and come loose when you tighten- make sure you check that when you're checking the install!
