Question Diono radian rxt as booster

The directions say a child has outgrown the seat when his shoulders touch the side impact wings at the top. So how are we able to use this seat as a booster? My kid is way average in height if not short, and his shoulders are about to touch. Does this mean we’ll neber be able to use the seat as a booster? I just didn’t foresee this happening. When did you guys transition to the booster? Thanks.

Radians make terrible boosters. They have a minimum weight of 50 pounds, and lots of kids outgrow them by height before that. And the booster is outgrown at the same time as the harness even if your kid’s body meets requirements for a little while. Dedicated boosters are relatively cheap and way better at being boosters.

How old is your child? Most kids are booster ready between five and six, with some waiting until closer to seven. That's usually about when the Diono is outgrown as well. If your child is short, and they're this age, have you raised the headings all the way up? The top of them should be above the shell of the seat when you're done, and the bottom just above the top harness height.

But as lgenne said, they're not really usable as boosters. They're outgrown at the same time as the harness. So if you max out one, you've maxed out the other.
