Hi everyone! We have a 9 month old who will be making her first 1000 mile trip to see her grandparents in a couple of weeks and we are ready to move her out of her infant carrier to a convertible car seat RFing. Because One set of grandparents live 1000 miles west and the other 1000 miles NE, we want to get a car seat that will be comfortable for YEARS to come. Mostly the cushion on the seat being enough and sleeping position but I would love other experiences as well.

There was an old thread on here but with how much car seats change, I was hoping to get your opinions! Thank you all so much!

How tall and heavy is your daughter, and what vehicle do you have? Without knowing those specifics I will say that Britax usually has plush covers and a foam pad under the seat area. We have also used a Graco 4ever for two days in the car without any complaints from our LO. She did have some head slump when it was installed as upright as it could be RF. It was fixed by reclining the seat more.

My little one found the Graco Extend2Fit to be comfy when we drove to and from Tennessee comfy and we did that in pretty much 4 days. She was sick of the car at the end but that was because she wanted to down and crawling.

Our last long trip was taken with an Extend2fit and we loved it. It will last a long time and gives more leg room if needed.

We’ve also had good luck with Britax seats on long trips. But as a kid gets older, the leg room isn’t awesome. Hasn’t affected my kids but it probably could for some.

When we take long trips, it’s usually 12 hours in one day for reference.
