Booster Recommendation

Looking for a booster seat to use for a visitor who is 8 years old, 4'3", 48 lbs. Longest car rides will be slightly over an hour, otherwise just a couple of days worth of driving in town. Bonus if it has a long lifespan and can be used as a spare seat in a couple of years when my almost 4 year old is ready to use a booster for travel, etc. (He is currently still rear facing in 2 vehicles and just started riding forward facing in the third last week so this would be a couple of years out.)

The Harmony Youth Booster should work well. It's only $10, and the lifespan is six years. So your child will get a few years of spare use out of it.
