Question Moving straps up? - forward facing

My 6 year old is riding in a Graco Nautilus. In the car the straps seem to be at his shoulder, maybe a hair below. I brought the seat in the house to raise the straps and when I had him sit in the seat the straps were clearly above his shoulders. Not by a lot, but definitely not below. Should I go ahead and raise the shoulder straps up or leave them?

Thanks!

Hi there.

You'll want to move them up. Don't test fit in the house, it's different from the car, as you've found, and how he fits in the car is how it's important.

You also shouldn't need to bring it in the house to raise the headrest. You can do it in the car.

Thanks so much! I was thinking the car was more important but wanted to double check! I’ll check again in the car.

Unfortunately his Nautilus is an older one that has to be rethreaded from the back (wish it was just with the headrest!).
