Canada Newborn with severe reflux and surgery

We have a newborn, 3 weeks old, with severe reflux. He is too young to be put on meds for it. He also will be having surgery which will require traveling (so not traveling is not a solution). He will have 2-3 incisions in his groin and lower belly. I need suggestions for a car seat for his reflux and then what I should do so his incision sites aren't bothered by the belts.

Re: Newborn with severe reflux and surgery

I'm sorry you're facing so many medical issues with your newborn!

What are you using currently as his car seat?

Anecdotally, I have heard that the recline angle of rear-facing only seats seems to help reflux babies -I think, if anything, parents are tempted to leave them in there for too long because it seems to reduce the reflux symptoms.

I'm not sure about how to protect the incisions. Could you ask the hospital where he will be having the surgery what they usually recommend (keeping in mind that the people there probably aren't CPSTs)?
