Should I buy the Diono Hip?

Zulily has a one-day-sale on the Diono Hip no-back booster for $10.79 today. I'm wondering whether I should buy it for DD1, who's 8.5 years old, at least 90lbs, and about 4'6". She has a bit of a bootie.

She's currently in a Parkway SGL in high-back mode in our mail vehicle and rides a no-back Graco turbo in her grandmother's car. We've tried the Parkway without the back, and it feels too tight around her bottom with that extra inch she slides back without the back. She hasn't complained about the Turbo, but she only has about 10lbs (or less) left till she hits the weight limit on that one. I've tried her in the seat belt the second row of our 2006 Odyssey, and I think she may pass the 5 steps in there by the time she turns 9 in May, but of course there's no guarantee she will.

My main concern is that she/her bottom will outgrow what we have currently before she's ready for the seat belt only. For that scenario, a $10 booster that apparently accommodates children with larger bottoms well seems like a pretty good deal. On the other hand, do we really need it? Also, does anyone know why they're being sold off right now?
