Question Dodge Ram Headrest or not?

My almost 9 year old is in the graco highback turbo booster!
Hubby just got a new truck (2017 dodge ram sport) and with the headrest she sits a bit forward - without the headrest the plastic hits the back window.

What is the best install for this scenario?

Does the booster sit flush with the back of the vehicle seat with or without the headrest installed? If there is a gap even with the headrest removed, when the booster touches the window, a backless booster may be a better choice. Is the base of the booster fully on the seat, or is there overhang?

It does not sit flush with the back when the headrest is on- the headrest kinda pushes it forward.
When the headrest is off it does sit a lot better BUT you can hear it hitting the glass in the back.

Hubby is at work and picks his truck up today so I can't test it now. He had a loaner last night and we tried it briefly both ways.
The base is fully on the seat it's just the headrest I am having issues with - it either pushes her forward a bit leaving a gap between the vehicle seat and booster back or it leans against the window.

It looks like this -- https://www.cars.com/articles/2015/02/2015-ram-1500-crew-cab-car-seat-check/ if you scroll down to Booster Seat B

I'd go with using the booster backless and having the truck headrest in use. That is what I, personally, would be most comfortable with.
