Question Evenflo Maestro booster buckle

We just switched our almost 6 year old to the booster mode in the Evenflo Maestro. One reason I loved the seat was for the higher harness limits, but it was time for us to switch it to the booster mode. However, it is taking me LONGER and more muscle to get it buckled than any harness ever did. LOL. Car has a bench seat and the seat pretty much sits on top of the seatbelt buckle slot. I have to help on one side getting the belt in position across her, then crawl in the other side to buckle it, then go back to adjust it. Please, please, seasoned car seat gurus tell me there is an easier way!!! If we had another car seat on the other side this would be impossible.
As much as I would love to I probably can't convince her to stay harness mode until she's 7-8..... and as she was past the min weight/height and way over the age rec, plus showing maturity, I thought we were FINALLY ready to move on. How to parents with a bench seat get this buckled? Any tips are appreciated.

We are having the same issue! Would love some tips. I though it would be easier to have my eldest in the booster so he could buckle himself. He could get himself buckled in the 5-point harness and all I'd have to do is tighten it! Now I'm crawling into my SUV, laying over him to struggle with the buckle.
