Britax Parkway - too upright to sleep comfortably? Most comfortable booster for sleeping?

Hi, we just made the change from the Britax Boulevard to the Parkway for my 6.5 year old. We are using the attached backrest. He seems to be sitting so upright in it that when he sleeps, his head falls backward so his neck is extended all the way backward and the top of his head is against the backrest. I did tons of research to get a seat he can sleep in comfortably but I don't think this is going to work out. Could I possibly have it too upright somehow? It sits flush against my car, an Audi Q7 although we did have to remove the headrest in order to get it flush.

If this seat doesn't work out, what are the suggestions on which boosters kids sleep in comfortably while staying in a proper and safe position?

Boosters are all pretty much going to follow the angle of your seatback. There are very few exceptions. Generally kids moving to a booster need to be taught to look up or to the side when they get sleepy to stay in position.

The Cybex boosters do offer a head rest that tilts back for sleeping to help with this; the Clek Oobr has a recline mode for use with lower anchors. Both have some drawbacks (the Oobr has shallow leg support that some kids don't like and the Cybex boosters are a bit short for the price.)

You may also decide that your child just doesn't have the muscle tone for sleeping in a booster yet if the "look up" strategy doesn't work, and a combination seat might work better on longer rides or rides at times he's prone to sleeping.

Thank you. What about if I got the Frontier but used it with the seat belt as a booster and not the 5 point? He's average build at 50 inches and 47 lbs. Will it be a more reclined seat? Can kids buckle themselves when using the Frontier as a booster?

The Frontier fits kids better once they have maxed out the harness. It is more difficult to buckle than a dedicated booster and it doesn't have significant recline in booster mode either.

I'd stick with a dedicated booster at that size if you want a booster.

We have the Cybex M-fix and it’s great for sleeping. It’s why we bought it, because we do a lot of travel. My son is very comfortable in it.
We have had it for a year. My son is 7 (will be 8 in Dec), 71 lbs, and is like 52”
