02 Ford Escape

We just got a 2002 Ford Escape. I have one full time in a lb booster. He is almost 9. I also have 2 step kids every other weekend who are also both in boosters. One is 9 and in a lbb, and the other is 7 and in a hbb. Escape has only a lap belt in the back center. Would it be better to put a hbb there and get an 86y harness, or put one in the front? We also have a van, but I have to drive the escape cause it is a stick, and dh doesn't know how. It would only be like 2 days a month when I would have to use it with all the kids.
