Does the diono radian rxt fit forward facing using seatbelt in a Ram 1500 quad cab? One CPST told us it won't go tight enough with the seatbelts which means it could only be used FF using latch up to 35lbs(truck latch is 65lbs including seat and child). Is this correct? I don't understand why the seatbelt wouldn't tighten it enough? Anyone have this and it worked?

What year is your truck? What seating position do you want to install it in? Have you or a CPST attempted to install it yet? I know that seat can be very difficult in some vehicles and some seating positions, but I am not a Radian expert. Hopefully with a little more info those who are Radian experts can help you more!

It's 2013 quad cab. I asked her why it wouldn't tighten tight enough and now she says it will it's just difficult. We are only expecting our first and looking for a convertible with extended rearfacing (I know it won't work from newborn as the straps are generally too high for most newborns). Rear facing install isn't an issue(we tried) and forward with latch also isn't an issue(but baby and seat combined max is 65lbs for our truck). I was just wondering if anyone has successful done the install in this vehicle with seatbelt in outboard seats(thinking way ahead for when/if baby #2 comes along)

If the seat belt buckle stalk is fixed it will be difficult to incompatible. If the buckle stalk is positioned far in front of the seat bight it will be incompatible. There are many incompatibilities with forward facing Dionos with the seat belt. They will feel tight side to side but will pull more than an inch forward when tested. There are so many more good convertibles out there that will work from birth that I wouldn't consider a Diono. I used to own one and I wouldn't own one again. There are just too many compatibility issues and rule changes that the company does not communicate to parents and techs.

Thanks! The buckle stalk is wedded and can be twisted. I think we are going with the Clek Foonf anyway for time being(expensive but made in Canada so that's cool). Then once/if we have a second baby on the way we will figure out another car seat then :)
