Which carseat to bring puppy home?

ASAP I need to buy a carseat or restraint system for a puppy, hopefully online. Can anyone recommend a link of a product? And does this grow with the dog or do I need to get something else later? Thank you!

For a puppy who is going to grow super fast, I would probably just use a crate in the cargo area of your vehicle strapped down. You have a minivan still, right?

Yes, still a van. No way to strap anything down though. He'd fit in a small carrier now. But yes, the carseat stuff I saw he'd outgrow way too fast. I will get a dog harness for the car eventually. There is even a rear-facing carseat for dogs with an airbag thingie. Loved it! But it would be outgrown in the blink of an eye. He will likely almost never be in a car except for the vet.

I'd put the crate in the cargo area. Just make sure it's below the top of your seats, just like you would packing with luggage.

I'd do the crate too. I did the same thing when bringing my puppy home but things went horribly down hill (6+ hour drive home plus a car sick puppy) so she didn't end up staying in the crate, but the intention was there

As for what to do when pup is older, it depends on how large of a dog we're talking. Sleepypod has some cool crash tested safety products - I have the Clickit Sport and I think they just came out with an easier to use product too.
