Question 2 Car Seats in 2010 Scion xD

Hello all! I currently own a Scion xD. My daughter is 23 months old and is rear-facing behind the passenger's side. Hubby and I are TTC #2. We were discussing if I need to buy a new car. I LOVE my Scion xD. It runs great, but I am not sure it would be safe to have 2 car seats in the back. Does anyone have 2 car seats in a scion xd safely? If so, what type of car seats? My daughter is in a Graco MySize 65.

If they fit and can be installed securely, they are safe! I looked up some photos, and the difficulty I can see is that installing a seat behind the driver may require you to use the seatbelt. One lower anchor overlaps the belt buckle, which could make it hard to get a good LATCH install. It looks the seat behind the passenger is a little wider than the driver outboard seat. If that is the case, you may be able to put one of your RF seats in the center, giving it more space to go between the front seats. Maybe someone else knows what works well next to the seat you already have. Do you have an infant seat you might use again, or would you need to buy another seat?

I am going to have to buy another seat since I didn't like the one we used for our daughter. Thank you. I hope I don't have to buy a new car yet so I'll test seats out in the middle since my daughter is FF behind the passenger seat. Thank you!

Hi, I had a 2008 Scion XD and I was able to fit two rear-facing Chicco Nextfits in the back. There wasn’t a ton of leg room in the front (I’m 5’10”) but it was safe. My twins were 2-3 at the time and very comfy. If I were you, I’d research convertible seats that were shorter front-to-back—like the Nextfits, Combi, Scenera Next, etc., because that’s where it’s going to be tight. Width-wise it wasn’t a problem in the back—it’s not like anyone could sit in the middle anyway Lol
