I didn't look over the carfax you sent the link for but will say that airbags only deploy when the sensors are hit to activate them, so yes, in some accidents airbags will not deploy. This isn't a bad thing it's just the nature of the accident that occurred.

In addition to the accident in 2015 involving the front or side of the car that's listed in the CarFax history, another red flag to be aware of is the front passenger airbag inflator recall listed in the Carfax (part of the large scale Takata airbag inflator recall affecting many various vehicle models) that effectively restricts anyone from safely using the front passenger seat until the recall repair is done, with CarFax indicating the recall remedy isn't available yet. :-(

05/21/2016 American Honda Motor Co. Manufacturer Safety-related recall issued
NHTSA #16V-346
Recall #KA5 Passenger Airbag Inflator
Status: Remedy Not Yet Available

Locate an authorized Honda dealer to obtain more information about this recall

Description: AMERICAN HONDA MOTOR CO., INC. (HONDA) IS RECALLING CERTAIN MODEL YEAR 2006-2011 HONDA CIVIC VEHICLES. THE PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATORIN YOUR VEHICLE MAY RUPTURE WHEN DEPLOYING DURING A CRASH. THE POTENTIAL FOR SUCH RUPTURES MAY OCCUR IN SOME OF THE SUBJECT AIRBAG INFLATORS AFTER SEVERAL YEARS OF EXPOSURE TO PERSISTENT CONDITIONS OF HIGH ABSOLUTE HUMIDITY. HONDA SUGGESTS THAT YOU AVOID HAVING A PASSENGER SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SEAT UNTIL THE RECALL REPAIR HAS BEEN PERFORMED.

IN THE EVENT OF A PASSENGER FRONTAL AIRBAG INFLATOR RUPTURE, METAL FRAGMENTS COULD PASS THROUGH THE AIRBAG CUSHION MATERIAL, POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN INJURY TO VEHICLE OCCUPANTS. THE RISK OF SUCH AN OCCURRENCE INCREASES OVER TIME. IT IS IMPERATIVE YOU SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH AN AUTHORIZED HONDA DEALER NOW TO AVOID THIS CONDITION IN THE FUTURE.

Remedy: PLEASE CALL ANY AUTHORIZED HONDA DEALER AND MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO HAVE YOUR VEHICLE REPAIRED. YOUR DEALER WILL REPLACE THE PASSENGER'S FRONT AIRBAG INFLATOR WITH AN INFLATOR OF A DIFFERENT DESIGN, FREE OF CHARGE. FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION AND ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING A HONDA DEALER, PLEASE VISIT WWW.RECALLS.HONDA.COM OR CONTACT HONDA AUTOMOBILE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT 1-888-234-2138. HONDA'S CAMPAIGN NUMBER FOR THIS RECALL IS KA5.

This recall being unrepaired possibly indefinitely until the remedy is available would be a deal breaker for me personally if I were considering buying an affected car currently, probably more so than any leeriness about the car's crash history. We actually own a car (2008 Scion xB) affected by the same Takata front passenger airbag inflator recall for which the recall remedy parts aren't available yet. For now our xB is usually only used by me or my DH to drive it somewhere solo (rather than all of us riding together as a family) to avoid having anyone riding in the front passenger seat. My oldest daughter is learning to drive this summer but we can't utilize the recalled car safely for her driving practice since nobody should ride in the front passenger seat until the recalled front passenger airbag inflator is replaced, yet a parent is required to ride shotgun when she practices with her learner's permit. Our other newer cars have to be used instead, which wasn't our preferred original plan for her driver's training. Takata, the supplier and manufacturer of the recalled airbag inflators, filed for bankruptcy a few weeks ago, further compounding how long/when/and if the recall remedy parts will be available. :-( Our local Toyota/Scion dealership doesn't have an estimate yet of when the parts might be available, the best estimate prior to the Takata bankruptcy filing was sometime this fall.

One of our cars was in the middle of a 3 car fender bender. $11,000 in damages so definitely reported. That said, I'd rate the damage as pretty minor. Plastic bumpers cracked along with a couple parking sensors. Those things are really expensive apparently.

Ask what the accident was and what the damage was. I've got paperwork to show it wasn't bad. Selling it soon so thanks for bringing this up so I'm prepared for the question. Ask the seller if they have the damage/repair bill so you can see how bad it was.
