Question What to get next?

My son is going to be 5 August 30th. He's about 44" and 43 lbs. We need a secondary car seat for him because he's outgrown his Britax Marathon 70. We're thinking of getting him just a booster because our Subaru doesn't fight the high back seats. His Britax Frontier Clicktight could not be installed in that car due to the angle of the backseat. Any suggestions on brands / models? Is it better for a booster to have LATCH or just use the seatbelt?

Do you know if he will sit properly in a booster? Here's some reading on that from CSFTL csftl.org/harness-or-booster-when-to-make-the-switch/ and The Carseat Lady http://thecarseatlady.com/when-is-a-child-ready-to-use-a-booster-seat/

Can you elaborate on the issue you were having in your Subaru? And what is the make and model? It's possible you could have issues with boosters there as well, depending.

There are multiple possible seats that could harness your son a little longer and it's likely you could find one that works.

For a booster - latch is mostly a convenience. It keeps the seat from shifting around when kids get in/out and means you don't have to buckle the seat in with the seatbelt to prevent it becoming a projectile when unoccupied, but it doesn't do anything to restrain the child.
