Question Britax Advocate (merged thread)

My has a single cab Ford Ranger...Is it possible to install a Britax advocate car seat?

what is the age of the child who will be in the seat? will the seat be installed rear facing? a car so old does not have airbags, so an rf carseat can be installed. i would avoid installing forward facing if at all possible, because a car that old also does not have top tether anchors.

If the child will not fit rearfacing in the advocate or will outgrow it soon, i would look into the graco extend2fit, as it will last rearfacing for a very long time.

because the car likely has only lapbelts, a child could NOT ride in it in a booster seat, which means a child of booster age who could not be harnessed in the car (and the lack of tether anchors makes extended harnessing forward facing difficult) could not ride in the car period.

That should work, just be sure to read the Advocate's manual to see how to install it with a lap-only belt. If the seatbelts are original, you should also get them inspected and probably replace them.
