Tranzitions + 2 boosters in 2006 Subaru Outback or 2014 Subaru Forester?

Hi,

I have a Graco Tranzitions for my 3 year-old, and a booster for my 9 year-old. Sometimes we bring my 9 year-old friend along, but it's super tight. The only way I can get all three of them to fit is Bubble Bums for the 9 year-olds and keeping the Tranzitions for the 3 year-old, but even then, it's super difficult and tight. I have a 2006 Subaru Outback and a 2014 Subaru Forester. Are there any other better options? Thanks!

Are you open to a new harnessed seat? An Evenflo Sureride in the center would probably make life easier. It's wider overall, but sits up on a very narrow base.

If it's wider overall, then wouldn't the two 9 year-olds still be squished? The difficult thing is that there is a big distance between the seatbelt buckles and the door. So even if I get a narrow harnessed seat, it's not like I can move it any closer to the door.

Plus the middle seat is extremely narrow. Even the Bubble Bum is wider than the seat in the car and the Bubble Bum goes into the space of the two side seats.

This is the situation for both the Subaru Outback and Forester. I just find it difficult to believe that no other Subaru owner squeezes in 3 across in a more manageable way. The two Bubble Bums are very difficult to buckle in, involving the 9 year old girls having to lift their butts in order to allow the other friend to fasten the buckle underneath. Then I also have to thread the seatbelt in the two seatbelt positioners of the Bubble Bums.

No, they won't be squished. They'll be sitting under/behind the wide part.

The Bubblebum is 13" across. The part of the Sureride that touches the seat is 11" wide.
