Tethering a rear-facing car seta in an Acura RDX?

Hi all. I have an Acura RDX and don't see a way that I can tether my child's rear-facing Britax Advocate G4. There's just no good place to attach a tether. The track to the front seats is covered with a plastic part. I know that supposedly this plastic part can sometimes pop off easily, but I'm just not able to get it off to attach the tether. Any ideas? Thank you!

Welcome! Have your checked your RDX manual to see if there are any restrictions on rear-facing tethering? Sometimes airbag wiring is run through the front seat tracks and wrapping the tether connector strap around the track may interfere with the wiring.

If there are no restrictions, you may be able to squish the strap underneath the track. The carpet often has a little give to it and once you get one end under the track you can pull it like floss toward the back seat to get it set up for tethering.

Thanks for your reply. There is no mention of rear-facing tethering at all in the manual, only mention of tether anchorage points behind the back seats and one on the ceiling. Nothing about the front seat tracks. I'll see if I can sneak the strap under the front track, as I would prefer that style of tethering to tethering a rear-facing seat to the back of the back seats.
