Not sure my Diono is correctly installed

Hi all,

We recently bought a 2016 Kia Sedona and I installed the carseats last night in preparaion for a long trip this weekend. I am concerned particularly about the FF installation of a Diono RXT. I installed with the seat belt, I have tried to tighten up the belt as much as possible, and can't move it side to side but when I pull it forward, it slides quite a bit. I don't think the whole seat is moving, but rather just tilting back, kind of rotating about the seatbelt. The seat probably moves about 1-2 inches. Is this normal/safe? Any tricks for installing it more securely?

That doesn't sound safe to me. Have you tried installing the seat in other seating positions in the van to see if you can get a better install elsewhere?

Do you have the recline foot out? Pulling it out might help.

I was going to suggest that but thought I remembered hearing something about newer models not allowing it to be down for certain situations? But I could totally be wrong- definitely check your manual.

It has been a while since I installed a Raidan but I dont think that many things have changed. This thread is now 10 years old but I think some of these techniques might help you. Specifically the trick about sliding the base of the car seat an inch or two from the seat back then pressing down not back while you tighten the seat belt.
