Question 3-Across in a 2016 CRV

Hello!

We have in our 2016 CR-V:
- 36" almost 4 year old FF in a Evenflo Maestro
- 30" 15 month old RF in a Britax Marathon Clicktight
- Expecting Baby #3 in early January (before tax returns aka car seat cash!.... sigh.... hahahaha!)

We have a Britax B Safe 35 that DD#2 just grew out of and that we like but have not tried out as 3 across yet. We would like to keep expenses to a minimum, and prefer to have an infant seat (instead of a convertible) for the first year. Our first two girls were rather petite at birth. DD#2 will likely be RF still when #3 comes, though if it will fit with the B Safe 35 better FF, we may consider it. We used to have a Graco Snugride 30 with DD#1 and we didn't like how flimsy it felt, although it was considerably smaller and lighter than the Britax B Safe 35.

Any thoughts? We just bought the Evenflo and the two Britax were a big investment for us so would like to use them as long as possible, if we can. Thanks!! :)

Hi!

The Maestro is pretty narrow. As long as you use seatbelt installs that will possibly work.

You'll likely need to replace one of the other two seats, but try each seat in each position; you never know. You will need to take the seats out one by one once installed to check for independent tightness. And seatbelt installs will be essential.

Thanks for your reply! We'll give it a go and see what happens. Thankfully we have until the winter to get it all sorted out, in case we do need to get a replacement. Would you recommend keeping the Britax B Safe 35, or replacing that with a narrower infant seat?

I would probably lean towards a narrower seat there if you want the baby center. If you can get the Maestro center it might not be necessary but I can easily imagine that not working for one reason or another.

You might find that the bucket works but the Marathon CT doesn't though. Really hard to know without trying.
