My daughter is petite, she is 16 months and around 29" tall and 19 pounds. We are looking to get her a convertible car seat that doesn't swallow her when she is in it. We tried the maxi cosí in the store and it felt way to big. The extend2fit felt like a good fit but I'm still interested in finding out what other seats would work well for her.

The Extend2Fit, Grow n Go/Grow and Go Air/Grow and Go EX Air would all work well. You could also look at the Graco 4Ever, Britax ClickTight convertibles.

Thanks. I should also mention I currently drive a 2008 Scion xB and would prefer the seat in the middle. What stores if any allow you to test out the car seats in your car?

If she's petite, nearly any convertible will fit her for plenty of time. I would be more concerned about a car seat fitting in your car well.

What vehicle will you be installing in?

Installing in a 2008 Scion xB center. Will also be switching back and forth with a Saturn hybrid SUV. We went and tried the Graco 4ever and the safety 1st grow and go today. She seemed to like the Graco better but I wasn't sure if her head looks like it is at the right height. Her neck is right at the bottom of the side air things.

Babies R Us lets you take the car seat to your car and try it out! We have a Toyota Yaris and bought the Graco 4Ever Extend2Fit because we found it fit in our car after doing that!
