Question 9 year old in backless?

My 9 year old does not fit correctly in the old Cosco high back booster we have and he would really like a backless booster. I was reading around this site and it sounds uncertain if it is safe to put him in a backless. He is taller in the torso. He is about 64 pounds and 53 inches. I was going to buy a Graco Affix but I was wondering if that is safe.

    Thanks!

It's a perfectly safe option for him. Where did you read here that it was not?

Oh, I didn't mean it in a bad way. It seemed like some posts indicated that high backed boosters would be better. Just want to be a diligent mom. So the Affix would probably be fine? (Of course I'll check him in it once I buy it.)
