Im intreasted in becomming a tech. I just wanted to know where do some people work. Around my area all I see is chp and a firefighter. I would like it to be a job. Also where I can I find classes near me. I know of one about 1.5- 2 hours from me. Im in Modesto CA if that helps. Thank you

It is very rare to find a job that is JUST being a tech. Many of us techs are simply volunteers. Other techs are police officers or fire fighters. A few people I know work part time at a hospital or somewhere similar educating people about chld passenger safety, but that's not terribly common. Some techs charge customers for installation and education services, but that's also not too common.
So, it's not likely you'll make a job out of it, but if you're passionate about it like many of us are, you'll find being a tech to be very rewarding anyway.
