Question Driving Myself Mad - So Many Good Choices!

My question is simple, yet complicated: if money were no object, which convertible car seat would you choose? We have a 2012 Honda Civic, and my daughter is petite for her age. Other than that, I absolutely cannot make up my mind regarding which seat would be best! I appreciate all guidance in advance.

How old, tall, and heavy is she?

There is no best. So asking our opinion may give you a seat you hate.

But we can definitely give you several options that we know will work for her and your car, and maybe have nice features like ease of install or easy remove covers or cupholders.

Is she in the middle or on the side now, and are you using lower anchors or the seatbelt to install?

We can give you more with answers to Wendy's questions, but I have a petite daughter and really like our Chicco NextFit Zip. Another compact choice I liked was the Maxi-Cosi Pria 70. It has a 40" RF height limit, but that may not be an issue for a shorter child if you don't want to push the weight limit for RF.

Without any other info, Clek Foonf (or Fllo if you need the slightly smaller size for RF to allow more legroom for you). I've tried many myself and installed many more for others... the Foonf is BY FAR my favorite.

I've never tried a Foonf, but when I got to try a Fllo and a Graco Milestone side by side, I went with the Milestone. I still love it.

Milestone is my personal favorite all-around. But the Nuna Rava would be a contender if money were no object.

Can you tell me what you like more about the Milestone than the Fllo? I had settled on the Fllo, and am planning to order next week.

That day was almost 2 years ago, so I might be forgetting details.

Price, certainly. And weight. I love the no rethread harness on the Milestone. One of the things I thought I would love on the Fllo was the harness adjuster; the Milestone's is smoother.

There was probably something else, but I'm forgetting. Oh, the Milestone lasts longer FF, although I'm not sure I was aware of that on that day.

I liked the Fllo until it wouldn't fit in my car, even in the center. I had a Chevy HHR at the time, based on the compact Cobalt. We are average height, 5'7" to 5'8". I have not played with the Milestone myself, but the NextFit fits in center or behind passenger, and Pria fit even behind the driver.

Hmmm, the smoother adjuster is compelling to me. I hate touchy adjusters, and really appreciate those that adjust with a single, smooth pull. I knew about the no-rethread harness, and was disappointed to see the Clek seats don't have that, but figured it was a worthy trade off, since harness adjustments don't happen very often (this will only be used by one child). My kids don't tend to hit 40 pounds until 6 or 7 (and they're short) so ff limits usually don't come into play for us.

If you drove a bigger car, would you have gone with the Fllo? This is going in an Odyssey minivan. The narrowness of the Fllo is a big advantage, because I want it in the middle seat, with room for the outboard seats to still tumble. I hear the Fllo will allow that to happen.

You're going to use it RF? A Graco Slimfit would probably work.

Oh, I remember the other thing I love about the Milestone: the low profile. I couldn't imagine trying to drop a baby (he was 7 months at the time) into that spot in a Fllo. (Mine was for a 2013 Odyssey +1!)

Oh, I was going by the OP who posted about a Civic. Yes, in a bigger vehicle I would have liked it. I have come to prefer no-rethread harnesses when RF because you can more easily tell when you need to move up to the next slot instead of trying it a bunch of times to see if they are ready to move up. I really liked the fabric, and my daughter seemed to fit in it and like it fine. She was about 18 pounds at the time.
