Rolled towel to improve FF Convertible Carseat install

Trying to FF install this '10 Alpha Omega Elite 3-1 All Terrain in the middle seat of the 3rd row of my '07 saturn relay van (aka Pontiac Montana, Chevy Uplander).
The angle of the vehicle seat is smaller than the angle of the car seat, so the back of the bottom of the car seat is 4-6 inches from the back of the vehicle seat if the car seat base is flat. I cannot get a snug install this way. If I put the car seat back flush with the vehicle seat, the back of the car seat base is up off the vehicle by at least 3". This also is impossible to get a snug fit.

Can I use a rolled up towel in either of these spaces to get a better fit? The space between buckle and belt is very narrow and the shoulder belt comes out of the back of the vehicle seat.
With thanks.

Unfortunately, you cannot use a towel in that way, or use anything else to "even out" the base of a forward-facing seat. I'm not too familiar with that vehicle, but hopefully someone who is will be along to give some tips. In the meantime, have you tried pushing the base of the seat BACK in addition to pushing down when you tighten?
