We are planning a trip to east coast next June. Plane and renting car. My baby girl will be 19 months then. At one year-old, she was 31 in long and 22 lbs.

I am looking for a spare, thin, compact car seat. May be never used again after the trip

The Cosco Scenera Next will be absolutely perfect for you. It's nine pounds, $45, compact, narrow, lightweight, and easy to install rear facing.

It's OP here.

Thanks Wendy for replying.

I've never travel with my babys on planes. Baby would be 19 months in June. What is best for either buy a plane ticket for her or let's her seat on my/wife's lap?

OP's here.

And, another thing is I have heard that flight attendants would give you hard time if installed RF on the planes?

Definitely buy a ticket for your child. There are so many benefits--hands free for you, your child will associate the carseat with needing to be restrained like in the car so will likely be better behaved, being restrained has a huge safety benefit in the event of turbulence or other aircraft incident, and so on.

I wouldn't worry about flight attendants. They're so hit and miss regarding carseats on airplanes. Find the sticker on the side of the carseat with the red text so you can show it to the FAs in case they ask. Here are some links you may find handy:
