WWYD - booster outboard or no booster center

2016 Toyota Sienna 8 seater
child is 11 1/2, but small of stature (60 lbs, 54 in.) and maybe barely starting puberty
child fits without booster in the extra 8th seat in the center middle row
child can also ride outboard passenger side middle row in a backless Turbobooster with good belt fit

If either is an option, which would you pick?

Can't wait to see what others say. I am leaning towards center, but we know a booster helps, ugh.

At that age, I'd lean towards letting them sit boosterless in the center as long as they passed 5 step.

Where do other child occupants sit, and in what?

At that age, I'd probably let the kid make the decision.

This is my parents' vehicle. When all 8 of us are in the van, she rides in the center 8th seat boosterless.
When it's just her and a couple of people, I feel torn, which is why I wanted to see what you all would say. On the one hand, I know the center is safer. On the otherhand, I know a booster may be safer since she is so early in puberty. This last time I had her in the booster on the side. At least with all the safety features, I think she would be well protected. In our vehicles she has always had to sit outboard (and they are older vehicles). She is new to 5 stepping, so this is brand new territory for us!
