Looks like I get new seats.....

I was stopped on a freeway for construction and the car behind me stopped but the car behind him did not. So the impact of the car behind me being hit caused him to hit me. It was a quite a bump, my neck is sore. I could drive home but the light indicating the hatch was open was on and it dinged at me the whole way home. And now that I opened it to get stuff out it doesn't close. Awesome. I can't wait to try to get a rental that I can fit 3 kids in seats in.

So sorry. I'm glad you're mostly ok. Hopefully the financial impact won't be too awful. Good luck with the rental car.

We have full coverage so we'll pay nothing except maybe extra to get a bigger rental.

Now, what seats to get? Seats being replaced are Britax pioneer and a classic RA50. There was an affix booster in the van too but it wasn't by the damage and unoccupied so I'm not sure they'll replace that. I will regardless. The RA50 was occupied and the pioneer was not but it was in back by the damage so I'm going to really push to have it paid for. Obviously I can't get another RA50. I'm thinking of just getting two pioneers. My oldest DD is almost 6 but she's very tiny (4t clothes, 2t underwear, about 30#) and very defiant/impulsive/willful so she needs to stay harnessed awhile yet.

And remember that sore from the crash= tissue damage = injured.

If the eldest can use a backless try to get an Impala. They are great for 3 across car seats (just have issues with forward-leaning headrests and boosters/some ff seats.)

So far so good with seat replacement. No argument at all due to my neck pain and the van now considered unable to be driven (hatch won't stay closed). I sent pics of current seats and screen shots of seats I plan on buying.

You can push for a car that is as big as what you normally drive. You were not at fault, so their insurance company is responsible. Push for it. When my minivan was struck (parked) I didn't back down until they agreed to a minivan rental. Be firm.

The problem is no rental companies in my area currently have anything larger than a compact car. I'm picking up a compact tomorrow morning and then switching it out for something larger asap. I have a bubble bum being delivered tomorrow and I'm going to grab a graco tranzitions at bru so hopefully I can fit everybody.

That seems really odd. I'd let that be the insurance adjuster's problem to find you an appropriate rental. But either way, good luck!

I picked up a Hyundai accent this morning and the back seat actually wasn't too bad but the center and driver side rear seatbelts overlap and the center seat was odd so I couldn't get the bubble bum to work anyway. So I just called Hertz back and got a little demanding so they magically have an impala they're holding for me!!

You need to call the adjuster and demand a van. They'll find one.

I got all 3 kids safely in the impala. Backless affix outboard, recaro proride center, Britax RA55 outboard. I should have my van back tomorrow/Monday.
I was in a mood of not liking my van before the accident, now I miss it sooooo much, lol.
