'05 Odyssey

My Kia Sedona has issues. We're thinking of replacing it. I found an '05 Odyssey today that's got a good looking Carfax. Its being detailed and has to go through the service dept check then I can test drive it.
Anything I should know/be on the lookout for?
Thanks!!!!

Make sure you don't get one with the "run flat" (PAX) tires!! They are very expensive and hard to get serviced/replaced. If you do, you can get them converted to standard mounts/tires at Belle Tire (that cost me about $1,200 last year, including tires).

Otherwise, we love our 2005 Odyssey. We bought it in 2013 with 84,000 miles on it.

I looked over the specs and I don't think it has the run flat tires, I'll be sure to ask though. It does have more options than I want though, I'd prefer not to have rear DVD, leather, moon roof, power doors. I like my vehicles basic. Less to fix!!
Side note, I'll never set foot in a Belle tire again. They missed a broken strut a few months ago, told me there was nothing wrong and it was safe to drive. Then today they refused to balance/rotate my tires because they claimed the wear bars were showing and I needed new tires. I got two second opinions and my tires have plenty of life left.

If you do school drop-offs or pickups regularly, you'll like the sliding doors. Is it a Touring version? Those are the ones with the run-flat tires (also leather, moon roof, etc).

Too bad about Belle Tire. We've had good experiences with our local one.

It didn't pass the service inspection. I did however test drive an '07. It hadn't been detailed yet and was disgusting but it passed the service inspection and drove like a dream. I put a deposit down because around here older Odysseys sell almost instantly.

Same here! The only reason I got the one I did was because a friend had a brother who works at the Honda dealer - I saw it on their website and she put me in touch with him to put it "on hold" for a test drive. :) Glad you found one! We just love our Odyssey.

The 2005 is the one bum year for the Odyssey when it comes to tether anchors as there is only 1 in the 3rd row. It can at least be used by a seat in the center position or passenger side but not 2 at once and no TA for driver side. All other year Odysseys 99 and newer have 3 for the 3rd row or can be retrofitted cheaply to have 3 in the 3rd row.
