Hi,

I am trying to find a good fit for my mom's car. My mother needs an easy to install and remove booster/carseat for my large 4 year old daughter. (46 inches and 44#). She recently start forward facing and in our cars in a Britax clicktight which we love. This is too large for my mom's car.

Needs:
-easy install.
-lighter weight
-safety (no highway driving)
-prefer 5pt harness over seatbelt

I look forward to recs from you guys!
Thanks!

Hi! What you are looking for is called a combination seat. It is a seat with a harness that is later converted to a booster.

What car does your mom have? The best intersection I know of easy install, lightweight and a good fit in most vehicles would be The Evenflo SecureKid, but vehicle can matter a lot. In what way is the frontier too large?

Also consider Harmony Defender. It's very tall but not a lot wider than the Radian it replaced, other than the cup holder. We looked at the SecureKid but didn't like it much.

I struggle with the seatbelt install but I don't think it's any different than any other seat in that regard. I just got "spoiled" with the LUAS for 6 years. Also the US version might allow LUAS to higher than the Canadian 46# limit mine has.

Good luck,
Melissa

The install on the Defender is, in my experience, very similar to the Radian forward facing install, which is notoriously one of the more difficult. I would not call it easy.
