My family will be traveling in a few weeks and we need to find the best minivan to rent. I have four kids rear facing, one forward facing, and one in a booster. We will narrow down where we rent from once we find an acceptable van for our needs. We will need storage space for a wheelchair and luggage. We travel suprisingly light (other than car seats) and the wheelchair folds. Any help would be great!

I have a "go big or go home" kind of mentality so I would probably go with a 12 passenger van just for comfort.

I'm pretty sure the minivans we have rented only hold 5. They didn't have the center second row seat. Those were always town and country's. Maybe an exhibition? Most websites list the number of passengers.

Yep.

The Honda Odyssey, Toyota Sienna, Ford Transit Connect, and Kia Sedona all have 8 passenger versions but finding a rental car company that stocks the 8 passenger versions of these is pretty slim. And with each of them, you'd have to have the right combination of seats to make it work and you cannot be guaranteed the van you pick is the one in stock when you show up.

Finding a place that rents 10 or 12 passenger vans will give you a lot more leeway with what you bring for seats and you'll definitely have enough room for everything.

We had 6 carseats in the Odyssey fulltime. Now one kid 5 steps.
But it worked well. Not sure about rentals.
Last time we traveled we found a van for only 7 total! That was before we had more kids.

You could easily find a Suburban with 2nd & 3rd row benches but with that many kids RF there's no way they would all fit. I would definitely go with the 12 passenger van.

Do you have two drivers? Last time we flew we found that two sedans were cheaper than one minivan! (one sedan was a compact and the other was supposedly midsize, ha!)
