I'm panicking here. At my ten week ultrasound the doctor said I was having twins. I was excited. Another set of twins! Now at my eighteen week ultrasound the doctor is saying it's triplets. I'm super excited! (Plus very relieved that the reason my bump is growing so fast is because there are three babies, not just two giant twins!)
Here's the problem. My twins were itty bitty. Triplets will be even smaller. I will need to put them three across due to space limitations. I am willing to buy another car seat if absolutely necessary, but I would prefer not to.
Car seats that should fit small babies that I currently own:
Graco SnugRide 40 (I have two from when my twins were born)
Cosco Apt 50
Graco 4Ever
I will end up with three rear facing seats in my second row and a booster seat and a forward facing harnessed seat and a rear facing seat in my backmost row. There is no way that I can have less than three seats in a row unless I buy another new, larger van. We just got this van! Oh my gosh!
I'm sorry that this is full of rambling. I would love any help I can get. I don't care if the triplets are in rear facing only or convertible car seats. I just need them to fit well!
Thank you in advance!

Don't count on the 4Ever or Apt fitting trips.
The SR40 should work as I recall. You could use them baseless if you need more room. I think you will likely need to buy another. But you may want to wait. Remember that trips are likely to be born earlier, but may be released later as a result. So you may want to budget for a seat and have a few options that will work in mind but not buy until you're sure what you'll be needing feature wise.

Our baby uses the Graco40 and it fits in the middle seat of our Odyssey second row (2011 version). We have had 6 careats 3 across at all times, both rows for years. I would think with Triplets you'd need 3 infant seats (and a stroller that can fit them all). Then one at a time, you'd unload? Depends how often you go places. It'd be really hard for me at any rate to use convertibles with three babies. :) Ours were all close in age but no twins or triplets.

My 10 YO just now fits the belt in his spot so we are down to 5 seats.

Remember that triplets are even more likely to be prone to angle-related desaturation, so it's not a good idea to leave them in the car seat longer than absolutely necessary. So if you use car seats in a stroller it should only be for to and from the house to the street etc (they should lay flat if at the doctor's office or something.) Also space wise a twin stroller and wearing a baby would take less room up in the trunk.

Of course you really only take triplets to and from the doctor for a few months anyway usually which may minimize the risk.

I've never been a fan of travel systems, and I do plan to wear them as often as possible. I'm really hoping that none of them need car beds.
