Would it be safe to recline a vehicle seat with a rear facing car seat installed? One of my nephews is nearing three years old. He still safely fits RF but has complained about his lack of leg room a couple times. Would it be safe to recline the vehicle seat to give him more leg room?

It would depend on the vehicle. My Toyota says to use recline position 5 for latch install in my center row (any poSition is ok for seatbelt) but I would hesitate to go past recline 5 for any install.

Some vehicles have strict recline requirements, other may allow a click or 2.

I personally wouldn't go more than a couple clicks. Reclining the actual child restraint to closer to 45 degrees would allow a bit more leg room or looking into another seat that offers more leg room.

You need to check both the car manual and the seat manual.
