Extend2Fit real life limits

I've been looking at the E2F limits, researching next seats, and it seems it may last my (98+% height/75-80% weight) kids rear-facing as long as it will forward facing. Does this sound right?

Yup, that was my guess too. For my kids it would likely be outgrown FF before it was outgrown RF. My son is in the 98th+ percentile for weight and height and just hit 50lbs in the last month or so, but his seated shoulder height has been 18"+ for almost a year.

I think a lot will depend on torso height. My middle DD is about 80-85% for weight and 90% for height. She hit 50 lbs at about 5.5 years and had about a 16" torso height at that point. (She still had growing room ffing in the Graco MySize, which has an approx 17" top harness slot.) She's 6 years old now and would probably fit ffing in the Extend2Fit for at least another year.

Now, my oldest DD was 75% for weight and >99% for height with a long torso. She outgrew (or was close to outgrowing) the 18" top harness slots of the Nautilus at about 5 years and 45 lbs, so she would have outgrown the Extend2Fit ffing before rfing.

My niece is 5.5, 42 lbs, and 42 inches tall. I don't currently have one set to her height, but I suspect it's very much possible she'd outgrow it FF before rf. I think she has 2 more clicks up in the My Size FF, and since it'll probably take at least 2 years for her to top 50 lbs, this seems entirely possible. I think so far, the almost 3 year old is trending toward a tiny bit lighter and taller.

He's 6 years old, 47" tall, and 51lbs. He's well within in the height limits of this car seat and only 1lb over the rear facing weight limit. He asked if we could buy it because he's so comfortable and wanted to face backwards again. The head rest at it's highest position was still above his shoulders rear facing and when I set it up for FFing he had about 2" to grow for that.

I'm so trying my 58 lb long waisted 6 year old in one the next time I have him at Target.

I was shocked by how much harness it had!!! I was like "the perfect seat!" Most seats we've run into with the harness at the top spot not much harness left.
