Installing Evenflo Symphony in Europe with no ISOFIX

I'm in a bind. I'm travelling with my Evenflo Symphony DLX and know that the cab picking us up from the airport won't have ISOFIX/Latch. European seat belts also aren't ALR, so to install my seat I'd have to use the locking clip. I can't for the life of me get a tight install with the clip. Would I be better off using the seat in booster mode for my 40 lb 4.5 year old for the 15 minute ride?

Can you meet with a tech to learn to try to use a locking clip? There are a few tricks to it that are easier to show than tell.
