So for the first time ever with either of my kids, I am going to have a situation where I need to install our Keyfit baseless. We are in a daycare crunch and a friend is watching our youngest for a few days, but she wants to be able to take him with her and her one-year-old so she isn't house-bound. Her daughter is in center position with LATCH, so she is much more comfortable having a base and using the seatbelt lockoff. I took the base out of my car this morning and left it with her. DH picks up in the evening and a friend at work offered up their extra base for the rest of the time we need the spare.
So for tomorrow morning, that really leaves me with the options of a baseless install or installing our Apt and bringing the Keyfit along in the passenger seat, which seems excessive. It is only about 2 miles on neighborhood streets, so I know I shouldn't be worried, but I am. Can someone reassure me that, done correctly, it is just as safe as the base install? I need to pull the guide out tonight for one last review, but I am fairly confident about getting a good install.
I watched a YouTube video where they did Euro-routing on a Keyfit. That's not allowed, is it? I didn't think I remembered seeing it in the manual....
