Hi all, Is car seat for kids in mandatory to travel in uber(taxi) in Michigan.

According to Michigan law, taxis are exempt from car seat requirements. However, "taxicab" is the word used and since it is not defined, a strict legal interpretation may be that Uber is NOT a taxicab and therefore not exempt from the car seat requirement. (Other cars for hire are not specifically excepted from the law.)
Then there's the issue of safety. More deaths occur in taxis than in regular passenger vehicles (in terms of percentages of injuries and deaths in crashes) because they crash at similar rates, but most passengers don't use seatbelts. The laws of physics don't make exemptions. Regardless of legality it is important that children be properly restrained at all times to keep them safe.
