A. What happened to the buckle 'tongs' and other things on the sunshine kids' website? and the infant insert and whatnot

2. When did Generation 3 seatbelts stop being used?

A. If you call SKJP customer service, they will send you the wider tongs and the longer crotch strap for free. I called last week after noticing they were no longer available online...they haven't shown up yet, but the rep said they would send them out, no charge. The comfy-soft insert is under the "Comfort" heading on the products page, rather than being listed as a Radian accessory.

2. No idea.

Huhhhh?? I was just going to order the 'tongs' this weekend, and, you're right, they've vanished from the website. I hope the other poster is correct, that SK will still provide them if you call; the folding of the strap edges in the smaller tongs/tongues is really starting to bug me.

Yeah, I couldn't find them either. I called CS just yesterday to ask to point me in the right direction, and they just took my order over the phone.

Well I called after I received the seat for several reasons, not knowing that a longer crotch strap was available (june). The very nice lady said she would ship it out that day with the wider tongs. Repeat this conversation two more times and this week (4 months later) I received a crotch strap and a chest clip. The crotch strap is maybe 1/2 inch longer, but it really doesn't seem like an improvement in ds fit. I did not need a chest clip. I wanted the wider tongs. It took me forever and scratched knuckles to change the crotch strap. I don't even want to think about how I replace the tongs.

I think they have a nice idea, but they need someone with common sense to chime in.

I was really hoping this would be that great seat. Then I was hoping for the recaro to be it. Why is it so hard to make a great seat?

Wendy (who currently wishes her husky was a tad narrower with infinate harness height, and airline approved)

Those bastards. I guess I PAID for mine right before they changed that. Would it be petty of me to call for a refund LOL!?

Huh? I just paid $11.90 for two crotch straps! I did however, get the buckle tongues free. They are seriously confusing!

Dang it! I just barely ordered and paid for my buckle tongues and a longer crotch strap too, now they are giving them for free?

They couldn't figure out their website ordering system.. they told me my longer strap and a stroller accessory were out of stock, then they sent me an email that didn't really say what they were shipping, then i called and they said it was a mistake, then i got everything, then a couple days later, MORE tongs and an apology and telling me to keep the locktite (that i didn't order and they didn't send me...)

Thanks for the link on the Gen3 seatbelts, I have a friend who is looking at an older model mini and I wanted her to know which ones to avoid.

I guess I'll call SK tomorrow and see if I can order the bigger 'tongs'

Yeah - my order was all jacked up too. I ordered the 'tongs' and crotch buckle. Shipping took a while and I was gettin all antsy. I finally recieved a pkg. via USPS with 'tongs' only in it and a letter saying, "we mistakenly sent you a locktite instead of the 'tongs' along with your crotch buckle, you can keep the locktite". So I'm thinking WTF? I never even recieved the first package with the wrong item in it. Just then, the UPS truck pulls up with a package from SKJP - with my crotch buckle and locktite. WTF???!! LOL

Russ said he sent my "tongs" out 2 weeks ago, after I complained. They have yet to arrive, though.

I ordered three longer crotch straps and a comfy soft pillow shortly after jools placed her order. I got all my stuff together in one package, and it was all correct! lol Guess I'm one of the lucky few. I received three sets of wider buckle "tongs" for free in August when I emailed and requested them.

I don't feel too bad for paying for the longer crotch straps. Simply because now I have them in my possession and I don't need to worry about them not being available when I decide to go ahead and use them. That to me is well worth the $18 bucks I shelled out for them. :twocents:

Not to brag (okay, maybe a little bit), but the crotch strap and tongs/tongues that I requested from customer service on Oct. 30 showed up today. Total cost: $0. And, I actually got what I asked for.

Apparently, mine were shipped out Thursday, but I have not received yet. I'm on the East Coast, so I imagine it'll take a bit longer.
