Michelemd - Installing in 2015 Toyota Highlander

My baby grandson is coming to visit. We have a 2015 Toyota Highlander and want to be able to install a rear facing car seat for him. The car manual is very confusing. The seat that they are bringing has a base which installs in their car using anchor points and then the seat just snaps into it. I can't find anchors in my car. If someone has a similar car can they tell me 1) are the anchors in the 2nd row? Which seat positions have them? If the seat is installed in the second row does it take up more than one seating position? (Saw that mentioned on a website). That would be a problem as we would like to put the baby and two adults in the second row for a family trip! I hope someone can help with this! Thanks.

You have lower anchors located for each outboard seat in the second row. There are no lower anchors for the center seat, so you would need to install with the seat belt if you want the seat in the center. Both adults should have head support at least to ear level, so they may need the outboard seats.

If the infant seat base doesn't have a lockoff, you may find it easier to install the infant carrier baseless. Often with rear facing seats installed with a lap/shoulder belt with no lockoff, tipping can be a concern.
