So Refreshing!

A co-worker is having a baby so I offered to show her how to install her seat. She was very thankful because check events around here have massive wait times, not something anyone wants to do but sitting in your car for an hour plus at 8.5 month pregnant is even less fun.

Anywho we did the installation today and she totally knew her stuff! I was so impressed! She had a Keyfit and the Chicco seat protector. She said "I know these aren't really advised but I bought the one from Chicco since I read it's ok to use aftermarket products from the same company." I explained that the car seats don't really do much damage if any and the protectors can give a false positive installation but that she was correct if she had to use one, one from Chicco would be the one to use. She opted not to use it.

Then she rattled off the stat about misuse and said she had done a bunch of research on which seat to get. She was totally receptive to instructions about projectiles and airbags etc...

I was so encouraged to know that our message is reaching new parents!

Awesome! I rarely meet someone who has read their manual. A few say they did but it's obvious they did not!

Fantastic! (For the record, Chicco specifically forbids anything under the seat INCLUDING the Chicco branded seat protector. Which is... You know. I've decided that if I run into that situation all I can do other than the standard schpiel is advise them to call Chicco directly.)

Yeah, it's the darndest thing, those "Chicco" car seat products are made by a whole other company. Really I can't get over it, since Chicco literally makes it's own millions of things, why would they lend their name out and allow people to be so mislead?

I do love working with people who know stuff, though :)
