Question LATCH Connection

I have a 2005 SRX and and evenflo securekid with the surelatch. I could not get it tight for the life of me using the standard latch clips (and top tether, of course) and attached one of the connectors to the seat belt holder - the metal piece bolted to the car that also holds the seat belt strap. The seat is now installed very tight - no movement at all. Is there any way this could compromise the safety of my child?

Hi and welcome! Unfortunately, you need to either use the seatbelt for the install, or connect the Surelatch to the lower anchors. Installing with the seatbelt is as safe as LATCH and you will eventually have to use the seatbelt when your child will reach the weight limit.
