Carseats at the airport

So, the other day my husband and I were talking about flying for a family visit this summer. We have differing opinions about which seat to bring for our will-be-two-year-old. We'll be lugging the seat through the airport, installing it on the plane, and again at our destination. Should we take our Costco Scenera (lightweight, narrow, tough to install) or our Britax Boulevard Clicktight (heavy, slightly bulkier (but not too bad), easiest install ever). We were thinking of attempting to lug it in a stroller across the Denver airport (or maybe you have suggestions about that as well)?

Your opinions would be appreciated.

Edited to add: she's currently 34.75", so she might have to be FF in the Scenera by then (36" RF height limit).

How much driving will you be doing on the other end of your journey and are you renting a vehicle?

It may be illogical and would definitely depend on your financial situation, but I would spend $39 and get a Scenera NEXT for the trip and use it in place of the Scenera you have now (even at home). A NEXT would completely eliminate the concerns that you have about the Scenera: it has a 40" RF limit and it is super easy to install in just about any vehicle.

I am just so stressed and bogged down when it comes to airport travel, that I am all about as light and maneuverable as possible. I just would not want to haul a Britax around and try to get it installed in the plane (I don't think the click tight can be used on the plane). So if purchasing isn't an option, I would bring the Scenera and pay super close attention to her height. If you have little driving on the other end of the trip, I would FF if she passes the height limit.

A folding luggage cart can be a help. Or if you will be using a rolling carryon, a Travelling Toddler strap works great.

I have flown with the Clicktight. It's not bad if you can get it in the stroller and it fit on the plane fine. All those recline options are so nice in a strange backseat (no worrries about rolled towels) and such an easy install. Plus very padded and comfortable

Thanks for the advice. My in-laws will be picking us up at the airport. I can't imagine we'll be driving that much (we've rented a car in the past, and usually only have to fill it up with gas on the way back to the airport. We never use a full tank of gas). So, FF might be ok for just the trip. We don't use the Scenera currently at home (we have the Boulevard and a Contender). So, I'm also toying with the idea of taking the Scenera and leaving it with the in-laws for the next couple of visits. I hate lugging a car seat on the plane and my kids usually behave better without them (since it's new and exciting to just be in a seatbelt)
