Does it have a closed or open belt path? The only reason to need an extender is if it's closed, as there is no way to open the belt buckle easily.

Not sure. I'll have to check. We are swapping carseats with the neighbor for the trip. They just got it about 2 weeks ago for their just turned 5 year old. I'll look at it when I get home today.

FYI - flying with the transitions was a breeze. We flew Allegiant air and it fit in the seat with the arm rests down. We even had use of both cup holders. The tray table can also go down with this seat. It didn't fit down the aisle but was light enough to hoist over my head.

The only downside is my daughter still rides rf. The seat pan on the Tranzitions was deep and it caused her to want to put her feet on the seat in front of her. It also sat very upright compared to her other seats so when our flight got delayed and put us in the plane on the later end of nap time and in the air during nap time she had a hard time sleeping comfortable.

In hindsight I should have gotten a Next for her, but it would be a great travel seat for a slightly older traveler.
